Beautiful choices, both. Neither would disappoint me. I voted for the Ford, though. I've always had a love for the 7 Liter, and that light blue with white interior is a knockout.
In 1965 both the Ford Galaxie and Chevy Impala received complete makeovers and were absolutely gorgeous cars, inside and out. Edgy Ford body lines vs. Chevy flowing elegance, stacked headlights vs. traditional; so very differently styled and I LOVED them both. In '66 the Ford Galaxie was again equally beautiful, IMHO the roofline was spectacular and the 7L was fabulous. Chevrolet styling however seemed to lose its aggressive look, especially with the softening of the grille and taillight design. Although still an attractive car IMHO it couldn't compare to the Galaxie. I voted for the Galaxie; a hands down winner this year.
As Jack pointed out, the 1965 versions of these cars were both absolutely terrific, and still are IMO. But I think the 1966 Chevy's facelift is better than the Ford's, so I voted for the Chevy. But lose the vinyl roof please.

I prefered the 65 Ford to the 66. So I Voted for the Chevy. I almost bought a 66 Impala for my first car. My Dad didn't like the 2 speed automatic and talked me out of it.
