I went Thunderbird because IMO the Riviera facelift messed it up. I like the Thunderbird big grille too.

Retired in Dunedin, Florida.

I'm just the opposite of Ed. I dislike the massive grill on the Thunderbird and love the cleaned up look of the Buick.

I went with the Buick as well, I dated a young lady that had one, it was an amazing ride.😊

Don't like the Thunderbird after '66.  Never liked Buick. Would not buy either of them.  The T-bird looks better to me and thus a vote for it.

Voted a tie.  Don’t like either grill equally. The Buick shape is nice though.

In 68, I thought the Thunderbird lost its thunder and melted into a big old Ford. The Riviera still looked like a Riviera, albeit gussied up some. Riv for moi!

I don't care for either one, but I gave the nod to the Buick.  Do not like the grill of the T-Bird.

I voted "TIE" for both cars having went as far south as they could go to out ugly one another.  And before anyone jumps on me for my saying both are ugly, I only remind you that if something can be beautiful, then something can also be ugly.  Both words are adjectives that describe something in one persons opinion.  And in my opinion, both are ugly.  I would walk past both at a car show.

@bob-jackman Bob +1. The Buick Riviera looks cleaner in styling.

Both are really beautiful automobiles and in those years had strong V-8 engines. The exterior colors are very good and there were many terrific shades to choose from. Either one would be quite to tool around in back in 1968 !

Buick for styling and the 'Bird should never have been fed steroids.

I think that both cars looked better in 1967, the '68 models kind of messed things up w/a tacked on look. With that, I'm going to pick the Thunderbird.

Riviera for the easy win. It was still a very attractive design the following year as well....but sadly that all changed in 1970.  The T-Bird is a decent looking car but my interest in its design faded in a big way after 1963.
