Both beautiful, but oh that Trans-Am!

I'm right there with Ed. Oh, that Trans Am. These cars are well-matched. But I've always considered the F-body GMs of 1970 to be some of the best designs ever for a pony car. That long hood, the aggressive stance, the way the rear quarters and broad shoulders reach up and blend with the roof line, and the ducktail rear end all scream refined performance. It's one of the reasons the overall design endured so well and kept producing, for twelve years, iconic variations on the theme (Bandit, anyone?) IMO, the Camaro with the RS front end and split bumpers is a close second to the T/A front end.

@jkuvakas JK has said it all and I agree....Trans Am gets my vote today but I love the Challenger too.
I'm just a sucker for air dams and spoilers. When I first saw them on the Trans Am, I flipped. Score one for Pontiac for me John - great comparo.
I agree: the Camaro and Firebird of this generation are among the best designed postwar American cars, especially before the big bumper era.

@perrone1 Dammit Tony, when I first saw this amazing TA I was spoiled for all other muscle cars.
I’m going with the Dodge here. Didn’t care for the look of the TA back in the day but appreciate it more now though. ✌️

No Contest vote goes to the CHALLENGER!
Wasn't even a little bit in favor of the odd looking design of the Trans Am. And using the word "odd" is being nice.

Challenger for me! In my mind there was a difference between the mid-size "Muscle Cars" and the smaller "Pony Cars". Challenger had it all - a very muscular-looking Pony car!

Interesting thought in all those comments. Love both but if it comes down to ownership, I want the Trans Am first.
Without even looking at the photos, I knew it would be Dodge for me.
@jack-dodds Well said Jack. It was close as the 70 Challenger is a beautiful design the TA is just slightly better IMO.
