@100ford2003 Sometimes when we think back to our car escapades when young and "invincible" you really have to consider that divine intervention could very much be a reality. When I was professionally trained in police pursuit driving I was shocked and embarrassed at just how little skill I actually possessed; a whole lot of "luck" got me to adulthood I daresay. Lol.
I bet it'd be fun to sit by a fire, throw back a favorite beverage and hear your stories of growing up !👍

I tell stories of the late '50's - early '70's [I swear to God are true] young folks of today don't believe them possible. But we had fun and the amazing thing is we survived, invincible in our late teens - thirty. I did not expect to live this long, the last 15 years have been nothing but pain. Oh well.
Story: I went to a party at a friend who I had not seen in many years, He was behind his bar in the basement telling stories of the good old days to his son and 3 of his friends. I was sitting at a table 8 ft away when I heard his son turn to his friends and say "lets get out of here, who wants to listen to my old mans bull shit stories". As he walked by me [I never met him before] stopped and asked "you were around back then, what do you think of Dad's bull shit". I turned and listened to John and when he stopped to take a drink, I finished the story. The kid was shocked "it actually happened" John's '68 GTX 440, 4 speed, 3:9? rear
against my '69 Coroner R/T 440, 4 speed, 3:55 rear.
8 mile race John won by the way.
The year before I WON on the same 8 mile course with my '68 Coronet Super Bee 383, 4 speed,3:23 rear. Handled better than the '69 R/T and had a higher top end.
Tough one but my first two cars were Mustangs so I will pick Ford
CAMARO, especially that split bumper Z28!

The '69 Mach1 is my all time favorite Mustang I don't care what color it comes in it doesn't matter to me but that Mustang was absolutely, IMO, perfect.

It's always 5 o'clock somewhere.Too bad it's only 1 here now, it's way too early for me to have a drink...lol 👍

@100ford2003 I agree the '69 Mach I was an awesome looking car Steve; especially with the spoiler delete. This is my personal favorite color:
@brush Your daughters were truly beautiful Bruce and I'm guessing they still are today. I agree with your first pick of the 70 Challenger being the most beautiful pony car.
Amazed that you had access to an 8 mile course. Us city boys were lucky to find a few blocks late at night in a remote area to race a quarter mile. Sometimes the racers buddies would block lanes on the local highway so the racers would have a clear road ahead.I bet it'd be fun to sit by a fire, throw back a favorite beverage and hear your stories of growing up !👍

Story: At 1:00+- AM on a Friday or Saturday after we dropped off our girlfriends [2- '68 GTX, '68 Super Bee, '68 Roadrunner, '67 Barracuda, '56 Ford, '53 Mercury] would go for coffee [soda for me] driving normally to a diner in Statford Conn and race home to Shelton Conn up River Road RT 110 a 2 lane twisty road with no shoulders along the river on our right side was a 40 - 60 foot drop to the river and on the left side ledge 20'+- , in them days nobody but us were out, today impossible due to 24 hour traffic. We would hit speeds well over 100 mph in a couple of spots. The winners were usually me with the Super Bee or John in the GTX conv. we were the really crazy ones.

@brush Bruce.....it seems to me that someone up there was looking out for you and the rest of us yahoos back in the day. Lol.
