Two brilliant cars, perhaps the best of their kind, but the Camaro is just a little better looking and more sophisticated.

Really easy today!  MUSTANG!

Was never a fan of the "New Gen" Camaro.

@ed-glorius The older I get the more I appreciate the second gen Firebirds and Camaros. The handling is miles above the originals. I never drove that gen’s Camaro, but the ‘73 TA I drove was probably the best I’ve ever experienced. I’m assuming the Chevy would be comparable. I’ve ridden in and drove my late brother’s Boss 302 and it was an amazing high revving, great handling fast car, but not a quick car. The solid lifter LT-1 is a fast car, and a quick car. I’m choosing the Z this time around but it’s a tough choice, they are both incredible machines, and a natural comparo.

I voted a tie.  I like the Camaro and Mustang equally from 1968 to 1973.

@ed-glorius  Plus 2.

I Like both a lot but as Ed says, the Camaro just seems more sophisticated. Thanks John.

Both cars are highly desirable and a great pairing John. The 70 split bumper Z 28 is my favorite Camaro and the Boss 302 one of my favorite Mustangs. Got to go with the Camaro.

Chevrolet for me.  I thought GM did a great job redesigning the Camaro in 70, after three great years of the 67-69 version.

Still don't care for pony cars, especially GMC. The only ones I like are, in order:

1. '70 Challenger T/A

2. '71 Cuda

3. '69 Mustang Boss 429

4. '68 Cougar

6. '70 AMC AMX/Javelin

5. '68 Mustang GT

No interest in any other Pony car. But I'll vote Mustang today it is almost the same as the '69 I like for looks.

Raced 2 Mustang Boss 302 with my '69 Dart Swinger 340, no contest ate them up by over a car length on the street quarter and quite a bit top end. Don't know the Dart top end but it would run away from my '69 Charger with a 440 which topped out at 136 mph on it's speedometer. Ahh the good old days, have not driven over 85 mph in years.

The only pony car I ever had was a '73 Javelin I bought off my Father when he retired, bright red, what a junk. 360, auto, open rear.  Did run quite a bit better once I removed the air pollution equipment off it, gave it to the wife to drive and within 6 months she blew the trans.

10 73 Javelin

and 2 beautiful Daughters who now are in their 50's.

Even though I am a long standing Mustang fan, the '69 Mach I was the last of designs I truly loved.  The headlights of the '70 "Stang detract.  I love the Camaro too of course, in particular from '67 thru '72 and the split bumper '70 Z-28 was a stunning design.  IMHO this comparison shows just how clean and uncluttered the lines and striping of the Camaro are vs. the "stuck on" spoiler and louvered window detraction of the Mustang.
