By 1970 my love for the Cyclone and its styling was waning. But the Buick is a genuine Stage 1 Gran Sport. (I know because the license plate says so - HA!) So it gets my vote.
Buick looks better to my eyes. Never like the look of the Cyclone front but over all a real competitor. 👀

Buick for me too. Gentleman's express.
Retired in Dunedin, Florida.
The torque monster Buick. Nice to see an easy choice for a change.
GM had these bodies done right. You could not go wrong with a Buick, Chevelle or 442 for 70. Take your pick and they were all winners. My pick Buick today.
Not fond of either, but both good looking cars. I generally prefer Mercury over Buick, and the Mercury is GREEN, but the grill center yuck.
So today a tie vote. I bought in '70:
Only mine had a black tail stripe and stock road wheels.
There it is in the background, only pic I could find my actual car in.
IMO, two great cars. But, I gotta go with the Buick with, by far, most torque of any domestic production car in its time.

The styling and performance of the Buick GS make it an easy choice. The Merc nose detracts big time.
It's the Gran Sport for me.
Gents, thanks for the pics and responses.
