Poll: Which Buick? (5/23/2024)

I like the look of the 53 more. 👀👍

Too big, too bulky, not pretty, John. Sorry.

I much prefer the styling of the '53 Skylark; in particular the grille, tail end and wheel arches.

This was easy for me...the 53. When I first saw the 53 Skylark I thought it was the most beautiful car I had ever seen and the image has stayed with me over all of these years. As to the 54, I have always thought the designers were tasked with a follow up and their approach was to use gimmicks to upstage the 53 and IMO it failed miserably.

Geez, John! For me, another toughie. I vaguely remember the '54s on the road. I'm not sure I ever saw one of the 53s out in traffic. But, the image of the '54 is brined into my memory just like the '53 stays in Bob's. The first one I saw was black with white interior and red wheel wells. It was spectacular! It wasn't until a few years later that I began to see pics of the '53. Today, my vote goes to the '53, but I had to think about it for a while. 

A first glance analysis puts me in mind of a young, slightly overweight sedate and mildly lazy teenager. (1953 Skylark) 

Once off the couch, slimmed down and pumping iron, I see the svelte young 20 something. (1954 Skylark) But hold the phone - I voted 1953. Both my morning coffee and nostalgia kicked in simultaneously. 

1953 by a nose, literally.

Buicks, no interest.

Beautiful Buicks ! Love them all and they would be a treat to have in real or model form and in any scale.

'53 for me. I've never warmed to the look of the rear wheel openings on the '54 Skylark.

Love both but the '53 wins this round for its cleaner design.

Love the '64 - '65 Skylarks

@brush, that's a good looking car, Bruce, great color! How was it equipped?

@jkuvakas   The top one is a '65 and the bottom a '64, I got the pics a long time ago and know nothing about them, any more.

Again '65 first, '64 second.

These and the '60 full-size are the only Buicks I really like.
