65 followed closely by 66. 67 loses the plot a bit.

For me, the GP somehow did not take to the beautiful full-size GM styling of 1965 and later years as most other GM offerings did. I still like them, all but the '68. My ranking is '66, '65', '67 with '68 a distant last. That front clip on the '68 does not call to me at all. All that being said, I would take the one-year-only '67 convertible in a heartbeat.

I am quite partial to the 1966 with the 1965 a close second. The 1968 for me is a design decline and I would place it last in this grouping. I prefer the Chevelle treatment for these years, over that of Pontiac for the Grand Prix.
The Grand Prix styling/trim detracted a bit from the Catalina, Bonneville etc. after 1964 IMHO. None of these really do too much for me but I would pick them in the order shown; '65, '66, '67, '68. The only detail exception is the nose of the '67 GP, which is much nicer looking than the standard Pontiac.
These Pontiac's in my opinion, were the WOW years! Drop dead gorgeous all of them! I could have easily have voted a TIE on this one, but decided to really think about it, and so here are my choices in order:
1) 1966 2) 1965 3) 1968 4) 1967
And if I put any continued thought in to it, my vote could be changed several times. All are just stunning! Pontiac nailed the styling on all of them!

To my eye '66 is the 'happiest' design: clean and sprightly looking; however I do like the bolt-on-goodies look of the '65 so that's got my vote. '67 is still cleaner than '66, but looking bulky and by '68, the styling has fallen off the edge.

+1 I agree.
'65 as I like the way the front fenders cut away from the headlights.

The '65 was a banner year for GM and the look of the GP is one of the reasons why. Next in line is the '66 followed by the '67. The '68 got lost in the shuffle.
