I prefer the general body styling of the beautiful '55 over the also attractive '54 and also prefer the '55 over the more trimmed/adorned '56. Nonetheless I would be proud to own any one of them.
Love all 3 years, best of the best '56, '55, '54 for both Ford & Mercury. '56 for the 12 volt electric over the 6 volt in '55 and the 312 cu. in. engine in '56 over the 292 cu. in. in '55.
I'd most like to own and drive the '55 - and just as it sits. Red as a chili pepper with a foot and a half of shine and those wire wheels. OHHH, those wire wheels. '54 second, '56 third. Great poll John!
'56, '55, then the '54. But all are gorgeous. 🤑
In the order shown. Cleaner lines are better.

I went with a tie. They all look pretty much the same.
I rather like them all but the earliest has the most appeal. 1954, 1955, then 1956.
Yikes, this was harder than I thought it would be. Thanks, John! I'm with Ed Glorius on this one.

I voted for the 54 as favorite. Then 55 and 56. I think the 54 would look midsize compared to the larger looking 55 and 56. It also looks like Mercury decided to stick with pretty much the same design for 2 years
I like them all, and, as Geno said, they are all gorgeous. I have prized replicas of the 1954 and the 1956 editions. Mercury is sadly no longer around but they made some great automobiles over the years.
Yes, this was harder than I expected, but it came down to the great grill and taillights on THE '54. If that one wasn't in the equation, the '55 would have been my choice over the '56. And for those that mentioned the same year Ford's, for me it would have been a little different. I'd take the '56 Ford first followed by the '55 and then the '54.
