Difficult decision between 56 and 57. Despite its beauty, I'm placing the 57 second because of its reputation for poor build quality.
Retired in Dunedin, Florida.
While I slightly prefer the looks of 1957, I prefer the actual vehicles of 1955 and 1956 for their drivability. I'm going with a tie here. I much prefer Chevrolet during this time however and would ever buy one of these Plymouths.
I prefer the more understated look of the '55 by a narrow margin over the '56. The '57 design is nice but pales in comparison.
All beautiful Plymouths and "Stars of the Forward Look" at Chrysler ! Signature makes a very nice 1/32 1956 Plymouth Belvedere in those same colors.
'57 without a moment's hesitation. One of the cleanest cars of the 1950s. The crooked side spear of the 55/6 has always left me confused. On that point, if somebody would explain the difference between the present '56 and the '56 Savoy, with less exuberant side treatment, I'd be grateful.
I chose the 57 for looks now but was always a fan of the 55, particularly for the tail lights treatment. 👍

Without hesitation, my vote goes for the '55. Plymouth's after '55 to my eyes were a progression of fins too high and odd shapes and spheres on them until 1960. Then finally in '61 they returned to beauty! The '62's had a lot in their styling, but over the decades they've grown on me. From '63 through '65, I thought Plymouth nailed it on looks.

Going with the '57 based on its sleek design, while the '56 comes in second.
