Guards, alarms, roving patrols and cameras are defeated daily because most individuals who use these methods don't understand that they are deterrents and should be used to detect and delay an individual while another system or someone is notifying the police. That is why many HNW individuals have armed personnel on the property. In this instance, it was family related, so nothing mentioned above would have worked, based on current reporting.

@lloyd-mecca That is surprising; those figures are never reported - even during the "years of OJ."     Thanks for that insight.

I agree, my comment was more about catching & identifying the suspect(s) - which we now know to be Nick Reiner, Rob's 32 yr-old son.  As we suspected, the murderer was related.    And yes, ALL cameras are virtually useless UNLESS individuals can be identified.

PS

30 years ago, my surveillance cameras filmed the neighborhood kids that had been vandalizing curbside mailboxes - they were quickly identified and "processed"  by authorities.    Years later, some minor vandalism was again filmed, but despite clear images, the kid couldn't be identified, and, well....  he got away with it.
