In an incredible turn of events, Rob Reiner (78) and his wife were murdered inside their Brentwood mansion - this is breaking news. Just incredible and so very sad.
Just read this. So sad. He directed so many of our favorite movies; Sleepless in Seattle, When Harry Met Sally, The Princess Bride, A Few Good Men and so many more. R.I.P. Rob and Michelle Reiner!
R.I.P. Rob and Michelle Reiner...just so sad.

...just so sad.
Exactly, the news popped up, around 11:30 last night, about a two-person homicide in Brentwood L.A., a few blocks from where OJ's house (if you remember that guy ) once stood. Reiner's name didn't appear until the third paragraph! I just couldn't believe it - I still can't believe it.
@perrone1 I agree completely Tony.
Authorities haven't released many details - which is usually a good sign. And let's face it... Brentwood is one of the most "secure & safe" areas in the U.S. Obviously, multiple cameras, from numerous locations, are still being reviewed.
I wouldn't be surprised if the perpetrator(s) turned out to be "friends" or family. I mean: Why the Reiners? How could one penetrate guards, alarms, roving patrols, cameras, etc.?
It's logical to assume this is more than just "some nut with a knife."

My initial thoughts were that this seems too much like a 'personal' thing. Your mention of friends or family was where I was going with my statement that it may not take too long to solve.
Just such a sad situation.
RIP Mr. & Mrs. Reiner. From what I saw on the news this morning, it sounds like a family member is the suspect detained. It is sad indeed.😟 I'll always remember him as "Meathead". I still watch All in the Family.
Such a terrible family tragedy; they were really good, caring people who certainly deserved better.
I caught this horrific news as it was breaking last night. So very sad! PEOPLE magazine was reporting on their site that it was their son who committed this crime. He'd struggled with drugs and mental health issues according to their report. Things just shouldn't have to end this way. My prayers with all who are associated with Rob, Michelle.

All in the family was quite a tv-show.
@joop It was Norman Lear who convinced Carl Reiner that Rob, as a young boy, was funny.
That is a terrible and unfortunate situation. A very sad incident.
Absolutely awful! Loved Rob Reiner as Meathead in All in the Family, and later, what a director. What a legacy. I guess, in the end this tragedy is down to mental illness that never responded to treatment.
