I agree with all but "Creative." I can read my emails now, "What does that mean?"

Come on now JK, being a Pastor, you shouldn't have too much trouble explaining that one !!!

really appreciate your efforts here John K. Having rediscovered modelling about 18 months ago I think its a great idea. Now that the weather is becoming milder here in Melbourne, I'm looking at having a go at dioramas too. (I'd make too much of a mess to work inside!) As has been suggested there may not be sufficient posts to occupy 2 forums so I'm in favor of combining into 1. I cant top any of the name suggestions posted already so I'm happy to go along with whatever is chosen. As for dropping one, simply the current forum that has the least posts?

League table as 3.40pm BST

The Lounge 45.2 K posts 6,868 topics - why is this so popular on a model car forum?
Forum 24 31.7 K posts 4,435 topics - a surprise seeing that there are hardly any new releases in this scale
Forum 43 30.3 K posts 4,202 topics - should this be top? Asking for a friend!
Forum 18 9,536 posts 1,586 topics - back in the day of Legacy this was once shared with 1:43rd scale!
1:64th and smaller 2,171 posts 340 topics - there must be more models and toys in this parameter than all the others put together! Perhaps competition from other forums out there?
Corvette models 494 posts 154 topics - not sure why we have this and not Mustang, Beetle or Austin versions!
1:12th and larger 393 posts 71 topics - everyone running out of space?
Supercar and Hypercar 140 posts 21 topics - what's going to happen to all these comments when this is dumped?

FOR WHAT MY TWO-CENTS IS WORTH...

Personally, I remember the confusion that existed when this current NEW format for the Diecast Zone took place almost three years ago.  In the beginning, it was unorganized chaos.  It took those of us that "returned" to this new format and eventually got used to it, after figuring it out of course, time and patience to do so.

If we are all honest though, many of our former regulars from the old format never followed us over.  The number of postings for each forum at present, that was shared above in another post, are decent numbers.  But sadly, they represent only a small percentage of the gang that made it over to this new forum three years ago.

Now that those of us here have it all figured out and enjoy coming here each day for the forums each of us enjoy, it is being suggested that we reformat, or combine, or even delete some forums. I can only ask WHY?  I said in my original response to this "change" inquiry/proposal that, if it isn't broken don't fix it.  I stand by that.

I'm also going to repeat what I said about the forums here that I frequent (almost) daily.  I look in on the forums that interest me.  Those would be Forum 24, Forum 18, The Lounge, and (sometimes) Forum 43.  When I go to these Forums each day, they are easy to navigate and I can enjoy what I choose to within each of them.  However, if some of these Forums are combined and/or gone, then guys, it's highly likely, I may be gone too.  I'm not tossing that out as a threat, only that I do not want to have to go through any one Forum, to find conversation or posts on the Forums I now frequent.

Mentioning again all the many friends from the OLD Diecast Zone that we have not seen join us here on the NEW Diecast Zone, my fear is we'll lose even more of us with another change of format and/or re-organizing of this current version.

As I said above, this is my two-cents worth.  Take it as you choose.  But MY VOTE IS LEAVE IT AS IT IS NOW!

@georgeschire, the only thing being suggested is that we repurpose one or two of the forums not being used. Notice we have 8 forums, three of which are underutilized. All we proposing is that we put one or two of those forums to better and more productive use. Nothing else changes.

Thank you John, for the clarification.  However, reading through the bevy of comments shared by others, that is not what I picking up.  There were suggestions to eliminate forums and combine forums.  I have no problem eliminating or rebadging a forum or two that is currently not drawing attention to it.  I just want to see the popular forums disappeared or combined.  So Thanks again for your kind response to me, and as always a BIG THANK YOU for making these forums a fun place to visit and share our love of cars with others.

@georgeschire  Yes George, there were various suggestions of that kind, but those proposals have all been discussed and argued through at some length, the idea of merging all scales into a single forum didn't win a lot of support, and the general agreement that seems to have emerged is that we can have a new forum for discussing and showing all kinds of modelling handiwork produced by members of all the forums, in any scale. Your favourite scale forums will remain unchanged, and just one forum which is hardly ever visited will be rebadged as the new "modelling" forum. Happy with that?

Yes, I'm happy that the individual diecast scale Forums will remain as is.  As for the rebadging of currently "unused or lessor used" Forums, it makes sense to make them useable.
