@bob-jackman Well even if Andy can play the uke he could never in his wildest dreams be able to tear it up like Tiny Tim.  The man? was just a blur from the wrists down.

@graeme-ogg Not to intrude on your Demi-Roller styling magic Graeme...but with that much horsie power you may want to consider a wedge shaped windscreen/deflector for the driver....and perhaps a gas mask.

You may want to consider a corporate sponsor to help with feed bills Graeme.  I would suggest you contact Hollywood and get the contact number for 20 Mule Team Borax....sponsors of the smash hit tv series from our youth...Death Valley Days.

A suggestion. When a number of people have responded to a thread that for one reason or another contains something that the original poster wants to delete, rather than in the process deleting everyone else’s work, just use the edit feature and remove just your own sections. That way, no one else’s work is lost.

Well, that is a possibility, but if the thread was built around the originator's initial thoughts or comments, and the originator then deleted his original content, the remaining entries might seem confusingly pointless and fragmented and hard to follow.

In this particular case, I don't know if the originator took offence at the original topic (the Cyberwagon) getting diverted to something completely different (as Monty Python would put it) or objected to a "political" post being removed (freedom of speech and all that) but it kind of looks like the total deletion was meant to say "to hell with the lot of you". Or maybe not. Maybe they'll get around to telling us.

@jack-dodds He would have been a bigger hit if he had been a blur from the wrists up.

@bob-jackman LOL!!  Not exactly a chick magnet...but at least Miss Vicki loved him....well for 8 years anyways.

Thankfully he passed away doing what he loved.....

Tiny Tim was singing his signature song, "Tiptoe Through the Tulips," when he died of a heart attack on November 30, 1996, during a performance in Minneapolis. He collapsed on stage during the gala and, despite being rushed to the hospital, passed away shortly after.

The original poster must have deleted his post. I don't remember who that was. I didn't delete anything. However, I did caution George to refrain from making political posts. If Tony or I didn't delete it, then the only option is the one who originated the thread. Unfortunately, once a post is deleted, it simply disappears. We have no way of determining what happened.

For the record, I made a political reference without mentioning names.  John K. responded to me with the comment "Remember our political policy".  That was it!  Being honest, I did not see my post as being offensive in any manner, but I respect John K. as our moderator to make his own determination.

The reason I opted to DELETE the entire thread that I had created, was that it had morphed in to 4 pages of several off-spring topics, one of which resulted in my political reference, and hence John's "caution" to me.

For what my opinion is worth, we've all as a society become too sensitive.  Seems most anything we say today is taken as offensive to someone.  Free Speech really isn't true anymore, as we only have Free Speech if we say what others want to hear.  But say something they disagree with, then Free Speech is silenced.  My opinion shared, let me again say that I respect John K's hard work here on the Forum.

George;  As a friend I would like to relate that my impression on John K's warning regarding being careful regarding political "stuff" was just that...a warning.  He has fairly done the same to me and others on occasion (given such a warning) but he has never deleted anything other than very over the line comment, political or otherwise.  He is the moderator and I think we all agree he uses good, patient and fair judgement.  I think if he had felt your minor political comment was over the line he would simply have deleted it and told us so.  His lack of doing so tells me it was just a well intended warning rather than direction or suggestion for you to delete the entire post.

I have noticed on very many occasions that as members jump into a post conversation the subject matter of the original post gets sidetracked or changed from the author's original intention.  IMHO it is never intended to be dismissive or rude but rather much the same as a group of people chatting in person; the conversation just wanders as comments prompt new thoughts and ideas.  I will say that on occasion, if a humorous string of comments gets going, some members will carry it on just for a laugh.  Conversely there have been many times when a member will suggest that everyone return to the initial subject matter, which is invariably done.  Personally I take no slight when this occurs to one of my posts; I see it simply as human nature.

I hope you don't mind me commenting on this George; it's just that I value the friendship and kindred spirit I find on this Forum and feel that sometimes it's good to toss such thoughts and attitudes around for the general good.

Jack, I've no problem at all with your sharing your thoughts to me.  I'll say it again, I have total respect for John k. and his efforts to keep all of us in check when we might go off the track a little.  Being an admin is not an easy job and I applaud him for all his efforts.
