It's getting a bit wintry and gloomy around these parts so I thought I would go out and brighten up the lives of the local folks a little. And of course enhance their aesthetic sensibilities at the same time.
It's the least one can do, and they certainly seemed to appreciate it.
Here you see me giving them a brief overview of the ignition timing settings on the small block V8.
That's wonderful Graeme! You look fantastic there explaining the needed info on ignition timing of the small block and, I'm sure, the proper settings for plugs, points and installation of the rotor. The car never looked better and it's easy to see the appreciation written all over the little waif's faces!
Truth be known this pic is actually from the 2024 Easter Edition of the GMT Gazette. It was the featured picture of a public warning to stay well clear of the Ogg property while organizing or participating in future Easter Egg hunts. The pic showed a well disguised Mr. Ogg patrolling the perimeter of his residential property in his appropriately painted '57 Bel Air, setting his rabbit leg hold traps and chasing out easter egg hunters who had inadvertently ventured inside his razor wire boundary. The article further warned of Mr. Ogg's penchant for land mining his lawn and taking pot shots at Christmas carolers from his front porch months earlier; an example of his intense aversion to all things festive and his propensity for violence. It was further reported that this was the last known sighting of the individual wearing the black hooded coat, shown furthest inside the Ogg property.

This remines me of the good old days...when someone on the block purchased a new car, all the neighbors would come out to offer congratulations and lookover the pretty new car. That does not happen today...at least not on my street.
Oh yes Jack. Those military-like maneuvers during Christmas with unsuspecting carolers, has reached cult status! He has since posted a primer for all Scrooge/Grinch worshipers to pattern their moves after him. Yep, a cult God he is!

I fondly recall those days too John. We live on a cul de sac - dead center in the middle with neighbors left and right. Since they have been here nearly as long as us, we've become good friends with the three to our left and the three to our right. Whenever any of these 7 (incl us) get new wheels, there's an inevitable gathering. Whenever the weather is nicest.

Tony, for me the cult God is Frank Costanza with the celebration of Festivus.

LOL! I can hear him yelling now - Festivus for the rest of us!! LOL!
@sizedoesmatter Yes I now recall this occurring. I had forgotten this gathering of the neighbors to celebrate someone's new car purchase; thanks for this positive memory. Simpler times that are missed.

Go figure, here in Northern New Jersey we received a light dusting, not even a inch. The times they are a changing.
