Too funny and a coincidence. Just this afternoon while driving, I saw a car on the side of the road, a lady standing next to it and a truck in back of her car with a guy filling her gas tank.
I'm being honest, I just shook my head in disbelief. For the life of me I've know idea how a person can ever run out of gas. Watching the gas gage should be right up there with checking your tires, lights, and brakes. To not notice the gas gage is getting low or at empty, is nothing more than just being a real ditz!
If people would take their faces out of their cell phones and pay attention, running out of gas and a lot of other things wouldn't happen. I'm sorry, but I would not stop to help someone that has run out of gas. I won't console stupid.

Yep; me too Geoff. Down a quarter? Fill er up. I like a full tank even though I've been retired for 13 years and don't much drive over local distances, it makes me smile.
I run out of gas a lot these days, but I never let my car get below 1/4 tank.
I drive about 150 - 200 miles each day with my job, so when it gets to a half a tank it is time to fill up. Also you are not supposed to run below a quarter of tank as it is not good for the fuel pump, which we all know is now located in the fuel tank. The fuel keeps it cool and under a quarter you are just not doing it any good.
When I reach a quarter of tank that's when I full it up.

I just came back from a trip to Saratoga Springs, NY. I forgot about filling up on the way back till I noticed I had less than 1/8 tank left. I had driven about 450 miles on the previous fill-up but had to get to 500 just because so drove till the warning light came on. I knew there were gas stations coming up. Stupid but, you know....

When the infotainment screen shows 100 miles or less I start to think about getting gas, especially during hurricane season.
