😆 Obviously drawn by a cat!

I don't like housecats; they're too aloof. Why not a gerbil?.......nobody ever speaks up for gerbils!
David's posted pic reminded me of this morning when I was out stumbling about in the back yard in a foot of snow with my shovel and bucket on "poo patrol" ....while my pup watched from his shoveled off spot on the deck.....I'm sure I saw him smirk.
Why a cat? Well the answer they are going for here is so that you don't have to walk them in miserable weather.
But, if you have a fenced in yard, you can merely open the door to let Fido go do his duty.
...ah yes, cats - the practically maintenance free pet. 😏
@chris HA!
We've had tons of cats and dogs, the vast majority of times, cats and dogs TOGETHER! The cats in the herd started acting like dogs. They were more maintenance free than the puppers but still require a lot of your attention, as I think you well know you kidder, you!
This is what we do when I dog sit my grand dog.Why a cat? Well the answer they are going for here is so that you don't have to walk them in miserable weather.

@perrone1 ...we had two beautiful cats, oh sure they demanded our attention periodically - but compared to dogs - they were virtually maintenance free.
True, true. And not all cats shred curtains and use your couch like a scratching post. With our first two, brother & sister, we had their front claws removed. Strictly inside kitties who were perfect little angels.....until bath time. Crazy, right? Shirl insisted on bathing them. It was like WWII all over again!@perrone1 ...we had two beautiful cats, oh sure they demanded our attention periodically - but compared to dogs - they were virtually maintenance free.

Well, they do but the trick is to have them de-clawed (front only ). Over the years, our dogs have caused much more damage - including chewing pillows, scratching glass, going through garbage, biting through a door (POS hollow door! ) numerous "accidents," clawing at material, pulling down blinds & curtains, stealing food, etc... 🙄 🙄
@perrone1 Tony you are exactly right. About a year and a half ago we brought in our outside cat Domino after Lucy, our other cat who hated other cats, passed away. Domino follows Barkley, our yellow lab/golden retriever mix, around and picks up all of his tricks for treats and attention. Neither of these guys had ever been around critters different from themselves but it didn't take long that they now have become best buds. When we brought Domino inside I asked my wife what we were going to do about potty training a cat who had never been inside...twenty minutes after he was inside he walked over to the litter box and did his business and has never made a mistake since. Love those critters.
I do too. Our Katie, a toss-away nearly-new born kitten, grew up with our black lab/dobey mix and pedigreed Great Dane. She would instantly come when I called her, stayed put if I said, "Stay" and wait until I cam back and played with the dogs and other cats like she was 200 pounds. (She was tiny) I had her for 22 years. The single most affectionate animal I ever had.@perrone1 Tony you are exactly right. @perrone1 Katie was beautiful. Domino also comes when I call him and will stay on command. All of our babies have either been strays or from the pound. The other day on TV I was watching a dog agility contest and the mixed breed dogs were referred to as American Dogs. I immediately had a conversation with Barkley and let him know he had a pedigree.
