"There's a second version of the rabbit emblem that's probably on Mike's car."
Chav, I agree completely! That one certainly appears to be an EVEN CLOSER match! YOU are the man, great work! (I essentially gave up! 🙄 🙄)
Here's one more enhanced - the very best I can do - photograph, notice too, the lower grill "angle cuts," and the fenders, that unique windshield frame, the wheels, the radiator cap, the convertible top interior bows near the back, etc., etc.
Mike's car is an Apperson Jack Rabbit V8!
Great research from all you gentlemen ! That certainly appears to fit the bill regarding the automobile. So Grandma and Grandpa were tooling around Chicago in a V-8 ride back then.....perhaps a muscle car of that era, lol !
This was a very interesting exercise. Great work Chav!!

Reading some history, the Appersson Jackrabbits were fast and expensive cars.
Thanks, Chav ! As it seems always, I wish my Grandfather and Dad had held on and kept all the cars they had over the years, lol ! There would probably be 25 automobiles stored in a private warehouse somewhere, like Jay Leno.
@michaeldetorrice Who knew in 1920 that in 2025 they will be 2-3 Appersson's surviving and people will still be interested in them?
That's so true ! Of course, I wish Grandma and Grandpa had kept the automobile..... as I unrealistically wish we had kept nearly every car my family members had owned over the years !
Yep, the Apperson Jack Rabbit was the Corvette of its day.... listen @ 4:20
Pretty cool visual look at the cars and history of them ! And it's yet ANOTHER automobile I wish we still had ...... but then I don't have Jay Leno's resources for a giant collection or garage, lol !
Thanks for that review of the automobiles and their builders ! That might help explain that Grandpa, being an engineer, would acquire such a car. Very cool and interesting.
@michaeldetorrice Yes.... the more I learn about these cars, one common theme seems to emerge; Appersons were highly regarded and much revered for their quality, prestige and speed during the first quarter of the 20th Century.
Yet, until Chav's discovery - I had never heard of them. I dare say, many others haven't either. It's pretty cool that your grandfather, apparently, was well aware of this and desired nothing but the best.
I had never heard of them either and it was only the diligent detective work here that the photos were narrowed to a likely candidate ! With my Grandfather being an automotive engineer, perhaps he saw and appreciated a good, solid design and one made here in the midwest.
@chris Fascinating story, though got eyesore from this guy's shirt.
