I remember as a kid the airwaves and magazines deluged with promos for the new "Wide Track" Pontiacs for 1959 and, boy, did they look low and wide. This Bonneville convertible looks like the Partridge Family would fit in it with room to spare. This was also the first year of the 389 cid V8, available with Tri Power that ultimately power the GTO. The spectacularly trimmed and appointed Bonneville sold a respectable 11,400 of these convertibles that year. Danbury Mint did a fine job replicating this beautiful automobile.
When I got word of this one, I couldn't order it fast enough. I love the '59 Pontiacs and DM nailed it.🤑
@geno I missed ordering this one and sure regret it.
@jack-dodds I understand buddy. I regret that the hardtop didn't make it to fruition. It was stunning. I got to see the prototype first hand when Rick sold it at the Toledo show. If I remember correctly, he got somewhere around 800 dollars for it.
@diecast1-24cars Seeing your fantastic photos and examining the actual model on my shelf convinces me that there’s no way these models were mass produced! Impossible!
I wasn't crazy with the white issue and I was waiting for a re-paint. We all know how that turned out. When I got word of this one, I couldn't order it fast enough. I love the '59 Pontiacs and DM nailed it.🤑

Have it, love it. I too would have jumped all over the hardtop had it been made.
@geno I missed ordering this one and sure regret it.
@jack-dodds Jack, I have an undisplayed, brand-new one in the box, with all original packing materials still inact. My interest has shifted to 1/43 so maybe we can make a swap? If you're interested, e-mail me at moeparr@aol.com. Appropriate fee will be paid to the Club. Thanks!

OK then I make the same offer to anyone else who might be interested in buying or trading something for the '59 Bonneville.

An outstanding model, that I unfortunately missed out on.
