PICS: My WISH LIST 1:24 die-cast car #12 1954 PONTIAC
For me as a kid from the mid 1950's on, Pontiac's were the first most recognizable cars to me. It was the chrome suspenders they wore on their trunks and hood that made them easily identifiable. Loved the "light up" Indian Chief hood ornament as well.
My Dad had two different '53 Pontiac's and I always liked the interesting oval in the middle of the dashboard too.
When I first saw a '54 Pontiac, ti was the slightly different grille that I liked better than the previous couple of model years, and it became one of my favorite cars. When the mints were producing 1:24 die-cast cars right and left, the '54 Pontiac was one that I'd hoped to eventually see from one of them.
It remains a favorite wished for car.

I didn't like these back in the day. Do now.
My dad had one. Built like a tank out of real steel. It would make a nice model.
YES-SIR-EE!!!
This one would look great in the display case! Make mine red with a black top, please;)

I'd certainly add one to my collection. Like that red one.
Very nice indeed.
Again thanks to 1/43 I have this model and the convertible. My dad had a Maize Yellow four door Custom Star Chief Sedan. What a car, leather interior and A/C and power everything.
Oh by the way: yes I would love one in 1/24 scale.
Bob Jackman...what is the count up to of cars in your collection now? I think you may have the largest die-cast collection out there, or at least a contender. Either way, it is beyond impressive and something to be proud of, which I'm sure you are.

Our family also had a 54 Pontiac but it was the Canadiann model that was really a Chev with the Pontiac trim including the chrome strips over the hood and trunk. I always wanted the small fins on the rear fenders and the light in the Indian head. I did some self teach to drive on that car, I used the starter button to back out of the garage and then put it back in so no one would know I had a small drive.
George ... John Merritt has over 3400 in his collection ... Does that count ?

There are at least 3 pages of the most impressive collections and I trust as you review all the names ... you will say to yourself ... " HEY - I know that name"
Every night I look into the mirror and I see that Iam such a small fry in this big pond
I'm truly humble to be allowed to hang with the giants in this wonderful hobby / industry
Hey George Did you know Indian Motorcycles had the lighted Indian Head on front fender?
George, The count is over 6,000 pieces now which is shear madness.
When this started many years ago it was not with the intent of having a huge number of cars...it just happened. I suppose the fact that I have no filter on the types of cars or the scales I collect is the reason I accumulated so many. What I enjoy most about the hobby is the people in it. I truly believe my fellow collectors are collectively are the most knowledgeable automobile experts there are on a wide range of auto subjects. It also amazes me how many little car collectors also have 1/1 vehicles as well.
I'd be in for these in 1:24.
