Oh man! John, you're outdoing yourself on THIS challenge. Like asking someone which of their kids do they love more.

OK, I hate the location of the fuel filler on the Chevy. But I hate the deep, distracting chrome on the Ford front & rear fenders. I dislike the sun visor on the bowtie but also resent the bumper guard on the Ford.

I love the overall modern, for its time, look of the Chevy but also love the upright and proud stance and look of the Blue Oval.

Dang it John. Going with the overall look of the Ford.

Chevy for its more advanced engineering. Neither is an oil painting.

I much prefer the styling of the Chevy.  I agree with Tony's comments about the odd looking chrome trim on the Ford; IMO it detracts big time.  I like the earlier and later Ford styling much more.

Ed, if your looking for an oil painting, you've come to the wrong place. One of my all time favorite artists is Caravaggio. A sample of some of his work...

I love Caravaggio's work! True story: we traveled to see his work in Florence in 1985. Unbeknownst to us his works were on tour and at the Met in NYC, from whence we came! Never did see them.

Don’t mind both. Last new purchases for a few years. The Chevrolet does look the most modern of the two and a more homogenous design other than that monstrosity at the top of the windscreen.

After the 40 Ford, to me this is a downturn on styling.  So my vote will go with the Chevy today.

Chevy for it's wonderful style and Ford for it's drive train. That 216 CI stove bolt babbitt motor and vacuum shift transmission made Chevys through 1948 the slowest things on the street. How do I know this? I owned a 39 Opera Coupe with the optional, for 1939, vacuum shift and while it was promoted as an advancement at the time, it was impossible to shift quickly. In 1940 vacuum shift became standard and stayed that way through 1948. At any speed above 45 mph, that babbitt motor sounded like it was coming apart. Through it all, I feel most of these comparisons are voted on for the looks of the cars and for that reason I vote for Chevy.

CHEVY as loud as I can shout and as bold as I can type it!  The style-forward top is a winner for me over the rather high and seemingly odd shaped Ford top.  The Chevy looks new and innovative, while the Ford looks dated and frumpy.

George said it for me.  Not fond of any car before 1950, they all belong in museums, dinosaurs. '48 Hudson was the oldest car I liked the styling of, was the same in '50, so it & others I say I like cars newer than '50 & older than '72, with a few exceptions of course.

Chevy today.

Chevrolet.  The front of the '41 Ford looks like it's on oxygen with the odd chrome strips running under the headlights.

@david-vandermeer Hey Pete, I too have always loved the ‘41 Chevy’s. Their stying just seems to have all of the elements for the entire totally whacked-out decade rolled into one model.

Prefer the Ford drive train, but it's the Chevrolet looks and build quality that wins my vote.

Gents, thanks for the pics and responses.
