The G.M Fast backs were just always my favorites of the 40s...

Neither get me too excited, but I'll vote Plymouth because I like the grille.

Also, thanks again for these polls. I look forward to them every day!

Both are reasonable cars for the period but the fastback on the Chevrolet tips the balance for me. Chevrolet!

To be honest, neither car really excites me.  But I give my vote to the CHEVROLET.  Looks less bulky.

I like both cars. The Plymouth is a handsome car IMO but the fastback Chevy gets the nod.

One of my favorite Chevy designs, so that one gets my vote.

Plymouth please, never cared for the fastback look on a full-size car of those years.

My first tie.  Both are nice but neither tip the scale for me.

I like them both very much but in recent years I have come to appreciate the Plymouth/Dodge coupe styling of this era.  Plymouth by a nose today.

Wow, that takes me back.  My first car was a '46 Plymouth exactly like this one, albeit in somewhat worse shape.

I paid $70 of my own money for it.  It smoked like a locomotive, the front wheels wobbled at any speed over 47, the paint was full of orange peel and it rode on four mismatched snow tired (which I never replaced).

It looked even worse when my bud decided to dechrome it and after bending all of the chrome and realizing that there were gaping crevices and holes he covered them with black electrician's tape.
