Interesting selection John. My choices are Mercury, DeSoto, Hudson, then Oldsmobile.

Olds/Hudson then DeSoto/Merc.  I thought hard about the Hudson first but went with the more familiar (to me) Olds.

1.) DESOTO  2.) HUDSON  3.) OLDSMOBILE  4.) MERCURY

I like all four, but DeSoto gets the nod for 1st because of the beautiful "waterfall grill".  Then Hudson is 2nd, well just because it's a Hudson.  The Oldsmobile looks really dated and the Mercury is just to chunky looking.

They are all beautiful cars, but I'll go with the Hudson, DeSoto, Oldsmobile & Mercury.

Wow! How different we are! The Olds looks more modern to me, then the Hudson, then the Merc, then the DeSoto.

Olds, Hudson, Mercury and DeSoto.  I like them all very much but for me the main point of judgement was more modern styling.

1. Hudson [gorgeous], 2. Olds [alright], 3. DeSoto[even though the grill is the vertical which to me should be horizontal, just does not look right to me], 4. Mercury[I like the brand but the styling before '49 leaves me cold, actually before '49 there are few car stylings I like, I'm a child of the '50's & '60's]

'48 Dodge

'48 I like because I had tons of fun with similar after the Hudson which is in a class by it self.

I like the streamline look of the Hudson, Grill on the Merc, then the Olds and finish up with the DeSoto.

Olds first for its modernity, followed by Hudson.

Hudson, I think the design is the best of all 4.

Olds

Merc

DeSoto

Just looked again and realized why I like the Hudson Olds  better, they look lower & wider which I prefer to the higher & narrower looking DeSoto and even more so for the Mercury.

'48 - '53 Hudson unbeatable and second in '54 to the Mercury.  Never cared for them before or after.  Just my taste.  I may be a little prejudice though
