Tough one again John, you taskmaster you! I could have easily gone tie on this one but at the very last second I voted Pontiac by the length of the Chief's feathers!

Mercury. Pontiac to me is dull until 1957.

Mercury '49 to '56 over Pontiac, Pontiac '57 to '64 over Mercury, for my taste.

Easy one for me today, to my eye Mercury styling was FAR ahead in 1951!

Easy one! I couldn't type MERCURY fast enough! In comparison, the Pontiac looked like it a decade behind in styling.

Mercury please John for the same reasons that I always choose Ford over GM during this period; engines and handling.

Although I really like the Pontiac, the 49-51 Mercuries are some of my all-time favorite cars from this time frame. Mercury.
