Mercury looks most modern and sleek. It wins. Second is DeSoto for its grille. Hudson third.
Retired in Dunedin, Florida.
Mercury followed closely by the Hudson, DeSoto and Olds. Strong lineup in the early 50s.

Interesting choices as usual John. This time, DeSoto, Hudson, Mercury and finally Oldsmobile.
Hudson, Desoto, Mercury then Oldsmobile for me.
I go with the same order but there's not a bad one in the bunch, they all look great! If I was car shopping in 1952, I would have had a very hard time choosing.
The "Step-down" Hudson design is one of my all-time favorites so it got my vote.

Mercury styling wins this one. Olds is second, Hudson third and DeSoto fourth.
Hudson, Mercury, DeSoto, Oldsmobile. I would have considered buying the Hudson or the Mercury but not the DeSoto or the Olds
Now this was a tough one. I really like all four a lot, and each for a specific reason. But when push comes to shove, I vote the OLDSMOBILE and then I vote TIE for the other three. This one is great today John!

I really like the Mercury, it's a gorgeous car, but the Hudson speaks to me and the '52 speaks the loudest. They are just beyond perfect, so that will be my 1st choice. The Mercury comes in 2nd, the Olds is 3rd, and surprisingly, the DeSoto is last-which I wouldn't have thought so if I was just looking at the names.

Hudson, Mercury, DeSoto, Oldsmobile. I would have considered buying the Hudson or the Mercury but not the DeSoto or the Olds
Bruce; I would have thought your first place pick would have been the Mercury; considering your pic from when you were a teenager.
@jack-dodds The car in the pic is a '53 and belonged to my best friend Bill, the guy on the bike, my '48 Dodge bomb way off in the distance. My family were Hudson. '49 to '53 Mercury is my second choice. In '54 they switched places Mercury 1st & Hudson 2nd.
Brown '48 Commodore Mom's car, Black ' 49 Commodore My Father's, blue '52 Wasp my sister's.
