Ford styling and drive train in '53 is far superior to the other two; although all three are nice looking cars.  The '53 Ford was my first car as well so nostalgia plays a part for me.  Chevy is a strong second, Plymouth third.

FUN FACTS from my INDEX CARD FILES

CHEVROLET BEL AIR SPORT COUPE: The Bel Air name originated with the 1950 hardtop coupe.  For 1953 the Bel Air Sport Coupe offered luxurious broadcloth upholstery with carpeted floors.  It also offered "turn indicators" as standard equipment.  It sold for $2,051 with a production run of 99,028.

FORD CRESTLINE VICTORIA: 1953 was Ford's 50th year as a company.  A choice of color blended fabrics blended to the outside colors of all '53's.  The factory claimed to have over 200 body style color and upholstery combinations.  Two-tone colors were available at extra cost on all models, but Crestline offered two-tone colors at no charge.  Prices for '53 Ford's ranged from $1,615 for the Mainline Business Coupe to $2,410 for the Country Squire Wagon.  However, the Crestline Victoria was close to being the most popular car.  Ford was in 2nd place, behind leader Chevrolet, with 1,184,187 cars leaving the factory.

PLYMOUTH BELVEDERE HARDTOP: Plymouth delayed the '53 line in October of 1952.  The car was very different from the previous year.  The Belvedere Hardtop Coupe sold for $2,064 with only 760 being produced for the model year, making it an extremely rare car today.

No comparison here John... The Ford looks so much more modern than the other two.

Ford, Plymouth, Chevy.  '53 I would have bought a Mercury or Hudson [if I had the money].
