"Well if I had money
I'd tell you what I'd do
I go downtown buy a Mercury or two
Crazy about a Mercury
Lord I'm crazy 'bout a Mercury
I'm going to buy me a Mercury and cruise it up and down the road." - as sung by Alan Jackson.

The song sticks in my head better than ALL the DeSoto songs so I vote for that cute, little cheeky devil!

And I voted DeSoto. It looks cleaner and lithe.

Retired in Dunedin, Florida.

So I take it, Ed, that you lithe the DeSoto better?  Laughing Out Loud

Mercury please.  For me no full-size car beat the '54 - '56 Mercury. While '55 -'56 DeSotos were nice, I loved the '57 - '58's.

I'm with Tony and Alan Jackson....Mercury styling for me by a very slim margin.  Both cars are awesome; '55 was a great automotive year!

Groucho and I pick the Delovely, Delightful, DeSoto but do like the Mercury too. Unfortunately I went downtown and couldn't find a dealership for either.

GREAT! Glad you like it John!!

It played well on the country charts some years back - a hit for Alan Jackson.

Harder choice than I expected. Ended up with DeSoto.

Both are stunning but I'd love to have the Mercury.

Going with the Mercury but the DeSoto is a "looker" too.

Gents, thanks for your responses.
