Poll: Which '57? (6/21/2024)

Oh John! You're the master! Another super difficult choice. Nineteen fifty seven - go big or go home = DeSoto. Big fins, gold wheel covers, in-your-face styling.

But too, we had a somewhat conservative and understated, yet elegant approach to the mid-to-late '50's with the Bonneville. 

Pontiac for me this day please sir!

While I like the Pontiac very much, that DeSoto is a landmark issue, I have to go with it.

Love them both!  They are both my picks for '57 along with the Caddy & Olds [goes without saying the T-bird].  Go with the DeSoto since it looks lower & wider and ends production soon while the Pontiac goes on and I can get a later model ['61 to '64]. 

I much prefer the styling of the Pontiac in spite of it being less modern looking than the Chryco forward look.  I like the '55 & '56 DeSoto styling much more than '57 & '58.

The long lean look of the DeSoto wins me over, along with the headlights and the tail feathers.

Another toughie! Design-wise, I like the DeSoto better...but I'd pass on the gold wheel covers. Overall package-wise, I lean toward the Pontiac. It looks leaner and meaner, more agile, and less like a land yacht. This morning, I voted the the Bonneville. 

Love 'em both, but also hate those gold-Soto  wheels, yet overall, that DeSoto looks light years ahead in design.... DeSoto wins today.  😎 

I always like the Pontiac but the DeSoto has grown on me and gets today’s vote. 👀

Both are wonderful in your face cars. If you are gong to go big then DeSoto is my choice.

The DeSoto wins for all of that style, the Pontiac as impressive as it is, looks stodgy and holding on to the 50s for all it's worth. On my DeSoto, those gold wheel covers wouldn't have a place, an excellent set of wire wheels will be on mine.
