@jack-dodds

I have to disagree with you.  For me, it's the '58's taillights as they are and the their shape and spacing that makes the rear deck so beautiful.

@georgeschire I don't mind the tail lights of the '58 Ford but I do think they could have been designed better.  It's interesting that Ford had the single round tail light feature from '52 thru '64 except for '58 and '60.

I think it's safe to say that though they weren't totally "round", the taillights on the '65 through "69 Fords were still close to "round".

The '65 Ford Custom (base model) incorporated round tail lights into the rectangular(ish) space shaped to accommodate the more commonly seen lights.  I could never understand why Ford did this; it was very unattractive.

I agree about the round taillight on the '65 Ford Custom.  My Dad bought one brand new and I was so disappointed at how "plain jane" the Custom was, because his brother (my uncle) bought a '65 Ford, but he got the LTD.  My Dad got very upset because he though his brother was trying to "on up him".  They always had a rivalry going.  But hey, I like the LTD a lot compared to the Custom.

@georgeschire Yes the '65 LTD was a very nice car; my late brother-in-law had one that I drove from time to time.  I recall the ads back in the day comparing its ride to that of a Rolls Royce and claiming it to be smoother.

I voted for the Edsel; I’ve always loved those taillights.

I'll forever respectfully disagree with you that the '58 Oldsmobile's and Buick's were ugly.  They were chrome covered for sure, but ugly?  NO!  And as time has passed, they are more beautiful than ever.  To each their own as the saying goes.  Smile

Huh ??

"Steve, not Brush"  I plead innocent 😇

Loved everything about the '58 Edsel from day one so it gets my vote. I do have sentimental ties to the '58 Ford, but I hate what the did to the gorgeous '57.

Gents, thanks for the pics and responses.
