I surprised myself.  I thought I'd be voting for the Bird, but that Studebaker is stunning!

I like the styling of both from the neat side window on the T-bird to the low sleek style of the Studie.

They each such beautiful personal sports-type automobiles. They both continued their power and good-looks in 1957, too.

I like the styling of the Thunderbird better, I just wish they hadn't had stuck them all with buttwarts for '56. I still picked it though.😊

Thunderbird. It's classic, while the Studebaker is becoming baroque.

Retired in Dunedin, Florida.

As produced by the factory specs I pick the gorgeous Studebaker.  I love the '55 and '57 T-Bird but the connie totally ruins the look for '56.

This was a hard one for me. I love Thunderbirds and Studebakers but I have a problem with both 1956 models. The continental kits were added to the 56 Birds because owners of the 55s complained that the spare tire took too much space in the trunk. The Studebaker Golden Hawk in 56 had the Packard motor which was very heavy and made handling difficult. In 1957 Ford made the body larger on the Bird which allowed the spare to fit to the side in the trunk. In 57 the Golden Hawk got the Studebaker motor, with a supercharger, which was considerably lighter and as a result helped the car to handle better. Thunderbird by the slightest of margins.

You cannot lose here. Both magnificent. I surprised myself by slightly proffering the Hawk.

Had to go with the T-Bird, since my family has a 57.

Thanks Bob for your reasonable comparison.
