Great for nostalgic purposes but neither my cup of tea. I give the nod to Buick since, in my estimation only, it's a touch cleaner, styling-wise.

(Great 'which' today John!!)

The only interest I have in these two is the amount of dislike I have for them both.  They are just about every thing I dislike in a car.

@perrone1 Well said Tony. I had never understood how the trim on the front fender worked with the trim on the rear fender of the Oldsmobile.

To me these are the nadir of 50's styling. I went with the Buick just to pick one.

Not a fan.  Don't like either or for that fact any of the late fifties GM big boats.

I voted TIE.  I love them both equally.  In todays world of one ugly SUV after another, these two wagons are beauty on wheels, and hardtops to boot.  In their day, people thought wagons were only considered as haulers, today the SUV's have taken over the landscape and are accepted.  Oh how times change.  GM nailed excellence with both of these!

My wife would have loved either of these. She was all for very large station wagons. Me not so much but I can appreciate the utility. I went for a tie as I could live with each, as long as my wife was the owner.

Easy today, as I actually like the Buick; the Oldsmobile, not so much.

I am not a fan at all of either one of these but prefer the styling of the Buick.  I do find them interesting nonetheless as they are the rather rare HT station wagons and would appreciate seeing them at car shows.

I like some wagons from that year. Mercury had some nice ones IMO.

Steve;

Here is another interesting wagon from 1958...the Plymouth Sport Suburban.
