I like both but have ALWAYS loved the '59 Dodge since I first saw it when I was 6yrs old.

The front styling with its eyebrow headlights, the two-tone color combos along with those tail lights and interior styling seal the deal for me.

Steve

P.S. i forgot to mention the Dodge's more modern windshield design too.

@100ford2003

Agree with you 100% Steve.  I'd like to also add that the exact same windshield and front doors were used on Dodges from 1957 to 1964 and on Plymouths from 1957 to 1961, and some Chryslers as well.

Dodge by a mile.  I just never liked this era of Mercury and the '59 is the least attractive of that 3 year body design IMHO.

Well I like the Merc a bit better but that Dodge (along with the same year Eldorado) certainly represents 1959.  Big convertibles with flamboyant  fins. 👀

I’m not a great fin fan so I’m going with the less flamboyant Mercury.

I like the slightly toned down look of the Mercury.

Mercury - '52 to '56.  Dodge '58 to '60.  Voted Dodge in spite of the fins, which I did not like back in the day but like now.

I like the side sculpture and tail-lights of the ‘57-‘59 Mercury over the added on look of the Dodge fins so I’m going with the Mercury.

MERCURY for me.

I like both, but they were still out there in the "extreme chrome to the max" styling era, and just a tad too glitzy for my taste.  The Mercury seems slightly more refined than the Dodge, it gets my vote.
