Both are great-looking automobiles from the pivotal year of 1959. When I was a kid I had a great 1/25 promo of the 1959 Pontiac Bonneville and I presently am delighted to have some 1/18 SunStar diecast replicas of the 1959 Mercury cars and several '59 Oldsmobiles.
OLDSMOBILE for me! Actually this was tougher than I'd thought it would be, as I like the Mercury a lot for '59. But against the beautiful Oldsmobile, it has to take the back seat.

I didn't even have to look at the pics before voting for the beautiful Olds. The colors really suit it well. The '59 Mercury is the least attractive Mercury ever built IMHO.
The styling on both is surprisingly similar. I see a graduating student with long robe/cape. The Olds can carry that look off easily. The Merc? Not so much. Olds for the win today John - WELL done sir!
Close for me. I like the tail lights on the Mercury better and the grill on the Olds better. I vote Olds for the Autronic eye. How's that?
Tough choice but I voted Oldsmobile for its jet tube fins.

First vote for the Mercury. While I don’t like the black and red colour here, I do like the vehicle. I could never get too excited with any 1959 GM.
Tie for me, I've always REALLY loved both bodystyles. 😊

I "see" what you mean 👍

While the Mercury is a very good looking design the Oldsmobile is a K.O. so it's my choice.

Not fond of either one, Mercury by a hair. Disliked the bumpers on the '57 & '58, the '59 looks much better, but still nothing great.
'59 Olds was my Dad's all-time favorite car, even though he never owned one. So in honor of my dear departed Dad, I vote for the Oldsmobile!
