Definitely, 101%, no contest, didn’t even have to see John’s pics… the Thunderbird ! I’m leaving the Cadillac for Chris 👍
You’re welcome Chris 😎
I too, couldn't type fast enough the word THUNDERBIRD! I honestly have reached the point regarding the '59 Cadillac, that I detest them. Those fins are so overboard ugly and the car is so damn huge! I know it's a "cult" favorite, but if I never saw another one, it would be okay. While the Thunderbird is (in my opinion) one very beautiful automobile. Regarding the Cadillac and Thunderbird being compared, I think they are light years apart. I love the yellow color too!

‘59 is my favorite square bird, but if I were able to type fast..C - A - D - I - L - L - A - C !! 110%, Gorgeous, Outrageous, Iconic, every superlative word I can think of! It makes the T-Bird look downright pedestrian. The example John chose is how I would have ordered it, pure gangster!
Sorry Kevins, Cadillac 1959, I could not run away faster. Has to be Thunderbird this time.
Thunderbird gets the nod easily. The '59 is my favorite Squarebird (love the grille) and the '59 Cadillac is my least favorite of its marque. But I still have a few models of it because it is definitely iconic.
@david-green No reason to apologize, everyone has a right to their own opinions. This one sits proudly on my shelf.
I love it, but as for a 1/1, I’ll take the Caddy! (And not just for the fact that they are worth three to four times as much.)
My thought is, how did I ever miss getting this Yellow Thunderbird in 1:24 scale? And for what my opinion is worth, I like the Thunderbird because it "doesn't stand out".
I've never considered buying any car to be the center of attention and noticed where ever I drive or park it. My thought is that, if I need to do that, I've got other problems to deal with. I like to blend in and not be the center of attention. From what I've experienced in my years on the planet, people who have to be noticed and the center of attention, have often times been obnoxious and self-centered.

The quintessential definition of conundrum. On one side, I'd much rather drive the Square Bird on a daily to semi-daily basis over the behemoth Caddy flagship. On the other side, the Square Bird may be my least favorite Thunderbird. The Baby Birds are my favorites. The Cadillac for 1959 is, as others are saying, iconic. Hell, not just iconic, but ask someone the example of an automotive icon and the answer should be the '59 Cadillac.
The question posed here by John Bono (THE Man!) is "which 59". I'm betting I can choose the Series 62, sell it and buy a Baby Bird AND a Square Bird! Cadillac for the iconic win please John. And, oh yeah, Lead on Sir!
@georgeshire, I see nothing wrong with pride of ownership in a car, and I would hate for my personality and intentions to be judged by someone looking at my car. I love the feeling I get when I'm walking away from my car and take a look back at it, just to enjoy how it looks. I hope others enjoy it too. Does that make me obnoxious and self-centered?

I love that Caddy. It is so emblematic of its time. But the Thunderbird steals my heart. I love the thought of what it generated, a whole new class of personal luxury, and its ultra-modern interior... so far out for 1959.

Tony said what I would have. The Cadillac is sculpture, and so over the top.
I had the good fortune to be a passenger in one of these many years ago, and that memory is here to stay.
Retired in Dunedin, Florida.
I voted tie, as I love both. No particular reason, I just do. Both amazing automobiles of their time.😊
@georgeschire I agree with your comments to a point George but have to say that I think it is pretty cool to see a person driving a cool/vintage/sporty/unique car or with it at a show, who just has it because he/she loves it. For example I would love to own a '67 Shelby Mustang and if I had one I would drive it with excitement and pride because IMO it is a rolling piece of automotive art and history. If people I encountered also loved it that would put a smile on my face and make me proud. The same can be said for any car or other object for that matter; having/using an item that draws attention can be a beautiful thing and not a display of vanity or any other negative quality. There are of course braggarts/obnoxious/vain/insecure people in every hobby and walk of life but in my experience they are very much the minority.
I always thought the '59 Caddy was outrageous and ridiculously overboard styled. Love the '59 T-bird. '59 T-bird & Dodge were the two cars I would have bought in '59, if I were old enough.
