Edsel in '59 not as ugly [IMO] as the '58 buy still too strange for my taste.
'59 a very tough year, there are only 3 cars I would have bought that year, in this order:
1. Dodge
2. Pontiac
3. Thunderbird

Like the Pontiac
The Buick is only all right
Don't care for the Chevrolet
Dislike the Oldsmobile
Cadillac is in a world of it's own and I am not in that world

If I were shopping for a 59 I would be all over a Buick.

This Bonneville in these colors would be my GM fave for '59.

Of course GM will steal the show for 1959 but this is not GM's turn in the barrel. 
The Dodge is too much "look at me". I'm going with the more traditional design of the Edsel.
