George, not a dumb question...I guess some just want to remain anonymous for whatever reason. Whatever floats one's boat.Okay, perhaps a dumb question. But I'm curious. Why do some members here on the Forum, only vote for the daily "Which One?", but don't comment? I ask because for me, it's the comments that are shared that make this daily feature provided by John Bono interesting. It's fun to read "why" one likes or dislikes certain cars. I mean, it's easy to click "Like" or "Dislike", but it tells us nothing. So am I alone here?
Right John, and some dislike the potential of being criticized for their choice by someone with a different opinion. It happens. Whatever floats one's boat.
Neither car does much for me but I give the nod to the Dodge. The deciding factor is the hideous Edsel tail lights.
LOL, and it's those Edsel taillights on the '60 that sell me on it. I like them over the '60 Ford's.

Yea, I know that's the obvious reason. For me though, if I were to come to this feature you provide every day, and all we had was "Likes" and no comments, I'd not waste my time even voting. It doesn't matter to me whether some likes or dislikes one car over another, I like the explanations of why. It's this back and forth commenting that makes this feature fun each day. But, you're right John, "Whatever floats one's boat".

A brilliant match-up indeed! But for one element, this one would have been a slam dunk for me. I love the '60 Fords, all makes. That roofline is one for the ages. The first '60 Edsel I saw, I fell in love with the front clip. I thought it was an elegant take on the '60 Ford Galaxie. By then, regardless of the reasons, everyone knew Edsel was on life support. Still, the '60 design was imaginative to me until I got to the rear of the car. For me, it was a disappointment, with too many conflicting angles and lines. I saw the Dodge as an effort to cling to the fifties and a bit too gimmicky ("Hey, let's try a half fin. No one has done that yet!"), but with another iconic roofline. So, both designs were, for me, a hard pill to swallow at the rear quarters. My final opinion and answer, "In a fierce fought Battle of the Bad Butts, I voted for the Edsel."

Dodge for me too, it just looks so interesting next to the rather bland Edsel.

Neither car is overwhelming IMO but I slightly like the Dodge the best.
The lights on the Meteor look better to me roo.

The taillights on Meteor remind me of the 1960 Chevrolets. The cheap Meteor gets a pair of twos, while the high end one gets a pair of threes plus the fancy trim panel. I wonder who copied who?! At any rate, the Edsel's taillights and fins are distinctive even though they might not be the most pleasing to look at. My vote? Edsel!
@pete-rovero I always thought this cheaper looking tail end treatment was a shame and really detracted from the look of the car. I think it all started in with the '58 Chevy. Here are some examples 1958 thru '71. Notice the difference is absent in '59 and much less noticeable in '66.
Other car companies also did this cheaper tail light and/or tail end treatment occasionally but it seems Chevrolet was the main one by far. Here are several examples of others:
I agree Jack and you posted some great examples. To me, the winner of the cheapest looking rear end is the 1962 Plymouth Savoy followed by the 1965 Ford Custom.
@pete-rovero Those would be my choices too Pete.
I'm a longtime fan of the '58 and '59 Edsel. For me the '60 Edsel looked too much like the '60 Ford and the tail lights are a total turnoff. The Dart does not get my heart racing, but it's a clean design and I would not be embarrassed to be seen driving it.
Gents, thanks for your responses.
