Chrysler in my opinion is the better car overall, but I love the Mercury styling and thus the vote for Mercury.

I like the Mercury but that Chrysler was my wedding car so have to go with it.

As much as I love the Chrysler, the design was getting old, and the tailfins are out-dated. So for '61 I have to choose the Mercury, now if this was '62, it would be Chrysler all the way-those excellent canted headlights and the way better rear styling.

Oh WOW!  I do like both cars for different reasons.  I like the Mercury because to my eyes in '61 it looked so much better than the Ford that year.  And I like the Chrysler because front to back it is simply smooth and fun to look at.  So this explanation shared, I VOTED for the CHRYSLER!

These are exactly my thoughts too John.  Mercury in '61 but Chrysler by miles in '62.
