Interesting choices, and both are terrific. I'm going with the Thunderbird for its smaller size and smooth styling.

Ed, some would say they are not in the same category and if I were wearing blinders I would agree. Like you, I believe they both are terrific. I categorized them as cars that make a statement.

Perfect! As for me John, you never had to categorize or pit one like car against another. If you asked my preference between a hamburger and a Coke, I'd give you an answer. That's what makes it fun for me. A GMC 1/2 ton vs a VW Beetle - it's cool by me.

I love both these cars for different reasons. Were I to use one for daily transportation and grocery shopping, I'd cruise in the Olds. If I wanted one for weekend fun - Tee Bird all day!

As for me I prefer the '63 Thunderbird so today I'm choosing the Oldsmobile. I like its size and that it can carry four more comfortably than that Thunderbird can.

No contest for me. Today Oldsmobile Starfire is my vote.

The T-bird is # 5 on my list of favorite T-birds; #1 is '57, #2 55, #3 is '58-'60, #4 is '64-'67, #5 is the '61-'63, the rest I just don't care for at all.

'62 Starfire is my all time #1 favorite Oldsmobile followed by the '63 and the '57, there are no other Olds I care for. And I would prefer to any of the T-birds with the exception being the '57 that I love.

Yes, they are different in size. However, both cars have the same appeal; they are early expressions of the personal luxury segment that the T-Bird started in '58.

I have owned two 62 Starfire hardtops and presently own a 1963 T-Bird. Slight edge to the T-Bird although it would be even stronger if the Bird was a 63.
