The Malibu looks hold up better to my eyes. 🤓

The Malibu for'65 was a gorgeous car with a great range of options so it wins today. The Fairlane shoulder years were really nice but the '65 was comparatively lackluster IMHO.
That particular Chevelle is an ultra-rare Z 16 with a beefed-up suspension and a 375 HP 396. For its time in 1965, it was an absolute monster. It was a one-year model, and only 201 were made.

I never cottoned to the first gen Chevelle's looks. I do however like the Fairlane. So Ford for me today.

Ed; I often wondered why the full size 1965 Mercurys had the side by side headlight feature but their Comet did not; while the Ford Galaxie headlights were stacked, but the Fairlane's were not. It struck me back in '65 that those two mid-size cars ought to have switched badges that year.
Chevelle is my pick also.
Not really a fan of either, so I voted TIE. Now if it would have been full-sized Chevy and Ford, the Chevy would have run away with my vote.

Chevelle SS all the way. One of my joys of the 1960s, including Woodstock.
The stylish Chevelle over the mundane Fairlane.
