I’m going with the beautifully sinister ‘Impaler’!

Chevy followed by Plymouth. Ford messed up its looks in 1958 IMO.

Retired in Dunedin, Florida.

I do not care for Plymouth until '65. I like the Chevy but only in the Impala trim. I like the Ford in any trim but the Rear view leaves me quite cold. In '58 I would have bought a Thunderbird or DeSoto, because I didn't really care for any of other cars styling offered that year or '59 for that matter [Pontiac or T-bird]. '56 FoMoCo, '57 GMC, CC didn't win in the '50's for my taste.

As pictured:

1. Chevy

2. Ford

3. Plymouth

Chevy Impala by a mile.  I love its rather unique styling, especially the tail end.  The Ford is a nice looking car but the tail end and squarish grille pales somewhat after the beautiful '57.  Plymouth is for me an also-ran in this trio.

Ok, I'll be the odd man out.........or maybe just odd, lol. I think the Plymouth looks the freshest out of this trio, then again, I've always liked the 57/58/59 Plymouths, way before the Christine hoopla. So Plymouth for me. Then the Chevy, followed by the Ford.😊

Fairlane 500, Impala, Belvedere. After the 1955 through 1957 Chevrolets, I remember being very disappointed with the 1958 Chevrolet. That feeling has not changed.

All are exceptionally beautiful automobiles from the recession year of 1958. I would be delighted to drive any of them ..... back then or right now.

I have model replicas of each these vehicles and they are all real favorites. Back in that day, my Dad had a real 1958 Chevrolet (Bel Air) and I proudly had a 1/25 promo of the Impala coupe. Neighbors of ours had other '58 GM autos, a Pontiac and an Oldsmobile.

Chevy, Ford and Plymouth. I never cared for the 57 Chevy but when the 58 Impala came out I thought it was beautiful. Several years ago I bought a 58 Impala coupe. I sold it when a guy saw it at a show and wanted it more than I did...have regretted it since.

For sentimental reasons it would be the Ford. For overall appeal it's the Chevrolet, Plymouth, Ford.

Gents thanks for your replies.

1 Plymouth -one of the best

2 Chevy -I like its lines. To bad they only used this body one year. Musta got a new staff for 59.

3 Ford- I like the rear design. Better than the 57 and as good as the 59
