Another example of making my head hurt early in the morning. Why do you persist in making things difficult John? Okay, I was very tempted to vote tie but I dislike doing that even if it brings a smile to your face. By the smallest of margins I vote Oldsmobile. Why? For the C pillar sail panels. Now if that's not a poor reason I don't know what is.
Like Bob, this was very close, but Oldsmobile for me too.

I had and loved a 67 Cyclone GT 390 c.i. and loved it. It was very reminiscent of the 66 here. I also had a 66 Olds, though not the 442. I voted Merc!
Very close, a tie. The tie breaker, I'm a Ford man not a GMC man.
I have always liked the Mercury Cyclone - though I've never been a fan of exaggerated hood intakes, so I go for the Mercury, but without the contrast white.
I like both (prefer the Fairlane to the Merc) but voted for the 442 which really looks like a muscle car. 💪

A friend of mine in college (mid-70s) had a gold 4-door 1966 Cutlass hardtop with the biggest engine available. She was the best driver I've known. She'd put on her work boots and state trooper sunglasses and we'd drive over the mountains of PA. Eventually you'd realize she was driving 100 mph, and we were all completely calm. So that informed my vote today.

NO-CONTEST TODAY! The OLDSMOBILE without the slightest hesitation.

Backwards and forwards for me after looking several times. I tend currently to the Olds.
George said exactly what I'd have said !

I like the Cyclone very much but LOVE the brawny looking Olds 442 for 1966.
