As the previous owner of a 1966 Chevrolet Chevelle Malibu SS Convertible, I have to pick the 1966 Chevelle.
'66 mid-size cars, of these three I chose the Fairlane. My favorite size & year, my choices are #1 Dodge Charger; #2 Dodge Coronet; #3 Pontiac GTO; #4 Ford Fairlane; #5 Chevrolet Chevelle; #6 Plymouth Satellite; #7 Mercury Comet; #8 Oldsmobile Cutlass; #9 Buick Skylark; #10 Rambler Rebel.
The true Muscle Cars.
Being honest, neither of the three really reach out and grab me, but if I have to take just one, I vote CHEVELLE.

I really like the Ford, the other two are wonderful too. Great size, style, and performance.

Well, I almost bought one like the Ford, but the '67s had just hit the showroom floors, and the local Mercury dealer had the Mercury version in a blue with a white fabric-covered roof, and then that dealer undercut the Ford's price by about a hundred dollars (maybe more), and so, liking the '66 Ford, I bought a '67 Mercury Comet Capri and drove it for the next seven or eight years. It was a honey!
Of the three above, I would choose the Ford, but only if no Mercury . . .
Ford is #1 for me. Then a tie.
Thank-you John.
Hi JK,
I bought my 1966 Malibu SS convertible in 1968 from a friend who needed cash to get married. It was pale yellow with white leather interior and red-wall bias ply tires. It had a Muntz 4 track player and I added Lucus spotlights and a Maserati horn set to it. It was automatic but I would have preferred manual transmission although it had a great consol between the fron bucket seats. The V8 was the small block 283. It was peppy enough. I loved the power top.
Car was a great cruiser and I took it to Florida and back from Toronto in 1970 and to Sportscar racing events. My wife and two small kids loved it.
I unfortunately wrote off the car in a head-on collision in January 1972 in a Winter storm white-out. I was by myself heading for a meeting in rural Ontario. The engine joined me in the front seat but my worst injury was a fractured knee which kept me in a left leg cast for six weeks.
I loved this car and had just about decided to keep it and store it for Winters as I had two other vehicles at the time, a 1970 Peugeot 504 and a 1966 Sunbeam.
They are all awesome cars so it is very close. I'll go with Chevelle styling #1, then Plymouth (love that interior) over Ford by a hair.
I've heard that Herb Alpert loved Chevelle styling and dressed / draped his 'Chevie' in whipped cream...
All terrific, but I particularly like the Ford. Mopar second.
Retired in Dunedin, Florida.
All great cars. Plymouth for me, then the Ford, then Chevy. Not a real fan of the 66-67 Chevy Malibu's.

FIXATION ALERT
Lol!
For me it's the Chevelle followed closely by the Satellite and the Fairlane.
