Would love either in my garage but favor the Olds by a slight margin.

Too me the styling of the Cougar is the way to go. This 442 was just to big.  Now the later model 68-69 would have been my choice.

I love the looks and handling of the '67-'68 Cougar (I had a '68) and the GT like the one shown was an awesome performer.  The Olds is very nice too but Cougar wins this one.

I much prefer the Mercury Cougar over the larger Oldsmobile 442. I’m more into smaller to mid-sized with the accompanying handling. Both are good looking vehicles.

The Olds is the mid-size/intermediate-size and the Mercury is a Pony car. They don't compare, two different size and shape car.  Should have been the Comet Cyclone compared to the 442, the Olds did not have a pony car.

Mercury Cougar please.

I'm going along the same thought process as Mr. Jackman.  I would love either in my garage, but prefer the Oldsmobile by a slight margin.

Tough choice, but I'll take the 4-4-2.

@brush - If I were shopping for a car in '67 I would have considered these two regardless to what labels they were assigned.

The Cougar does it for me. I like the 442 too, but it looks too much like the other GM look-a-likes.

@sizedoesmatter   I like the Cougar styling much better but, I don't care for the pony-style cars as much as the mid-size which is my favorite size car.  For my personal use the Olds would be my choice.

Love the Cougar, but when I was a kid, my cousin had a '66 442, that was such an awesome car. I'm going with the Olds.
