G'dmorning John,
Great choice today ! 👍 Hands down, the DDG Riviera ! I still believe this styling to be #1 in my book. Fell in ❤️ in '63 and fell harder when the '66 was unveiled !
Those iconic Buick wheels help too...
Thanks for making my Friday morning.

@100ford2003 Steve, my pleasure. Agree...the Gen II Riviera is gorgeous.

Me too. Riviera! 😎👍

To me the '68 facelifts messed up both cars' looks from 1966 and 1967, so I voted tie.

Riviera for me as well. Never liked the Toronado, I guess due to the fact that it was front wheel drive, and back then all american cars were rear wheel, so you could do some nice burn outs.
I agree with Ed G. The front end changes to both cars were a real let-down compared to the previous years. The "purity" of the nose and front fenders of the '66-'67 Riviera has been spoiled, and those side "hooks" attaching the Toronado grille to the fenders look really tacked-on and don't blend in properly.
For me it's a "negative tie". Thumbs down equally to both.

Not my favourites and both have slipped from earlier versions. I’ve gone for the Toronado mainly because of the unusual for the times on American cars front wheel drive. It was amazing how much better that car performed in a Canadian Winter.
I still have a soft spot for both cars. But I also believe they are two cases of trying too hard to change up a really great design just for the sake of change. My vote goes to the Riv.

Even though I took my drivers training course in a '66 Toronado, I never liked the looks and styling of it. The '68 just continued the ugliness. As for the Riviera, after the outstandingly beautiful '63 and '64 versions, by '68 it too, had went down the ugly road. Sorry to those that like/love both, but my eyes turn away from them.

Buick for me. I never cared for the Olds as I thought the designers tried too hard and ended up with a design that wasn't as coherent as the Riviera.
I prefer the earlier years of both cars but find the Riviera still sleek and attractive. The Toronado looks chunky by comparison.
What Bob said!Buick for me. I never cared for the Olds as I thought the designers tried too hard and ended up with a design that wasn't as coherent as the Riviera.
