The sinister Buick for me, although I like the Mercury's colors.

I am happy to have diecast replicas of each of these giant beauties. With big V-8 power and a comfortable cloud-like ride, these magnificent automobiles would clearly be top-of-the-line for 1959.

I'm with JK on this. Maybe it's the colors, but the Mercury looks leaner than the bloated Buick. That's probably why many women prefer to wear black...

Buick but like the 60 a little more. Mercury is ok color wise but a bit too square. I was watching a movie last week Palm Springs Weekend. Connie Stevens, Jerry Van Dyke, Ty Hardin and Robert Conrad. Race between a 1958 Mercury and a 1963 2 seater T-Bird. The T-Bird was sleek and fast, the movie was lousy and we never found out the winner of the race coz the Mercury crashed.

For the fins and flare I went with the Buick in this pairing. The Mercury just looks drab to me.

Good point Pete, and that’s why red lipstick looks great on a Lady wearing black. At least in MHO. 😂
