That Ford works for me, particularly in that color with gold striping. I never really like the Chevy’s tailights when compare to the 67. ✌️

I'm liking the swoopy Ford.

I lost a little interest in the Galaxie after my love affair with the '64. I owned a '68 Impala, coincidently, in silver, so that garners my vote.
I have a slight preference for the Impala but actually prefer the Chevelle more.
I'm liking that Ford, the wheels and the hideaway headlights both add greatly to its appeal for me!

I much prefer this body style of the '68 Ford. The roofline, rear end and tail lights not being incorporated into the bumper look far better than the Chevy. IMHO this Chevrolet design was by far the best in its original and gorgeous 1965 version.
CHEVROLET for me today! Though to my eyes it lost a little of the beauty achieved with the '65 Chevy, it still has enough win out over the Ford. And hey, being honest, there are no Ford's over the decades that I thought were better looking styling wise than Chevy's. There are Ford's that I'd choose over some other cars, but not when up against Chevy.

Ford please. Ford '60 to '69; Chevy '61 to '64. '70 up Fords, '65 up Chevy I don't care for their styling.

I agree David; the '68 and especially the '69 Chevelle SS HTs were gorgeous cars. The '69 is my favorite Chevelle of the great ones 1964 thru '72; after which the design was a great disappointment by comparison IMHO.
Was the fact that a 427 was available in both why they're here on 4/27? Or am I mistaken about availability of the 7 liters?

@ed-glorius If I read the info correctly it seems that there was a 427 and a 428 available in the 1968 Galaxie 500?? I had always thought that the 428 was the only one of around that size available that year for this car.
...and a 427 option in the Chevy. John will have to tell us if this was intentional.

As much as I like the Impala (I even owned one, my 1st car) the Ford does it for me. I could have had one of those as my 1st car, but my dad wouldn't hear of it. There would never be a Ford in his driveway. That attitude was short lived however, because two cars after the Impala, I bought my 1st Mark IV, he was furious.

I love ‘em both, but for 1968 I love the 500XL just a little bit more. Vote: Ford.
