Having driven both, I would be hard pressed to see any difference in ride, controls or comfort. I choose a tie.

Wow, there's so much I like about each of these cars---hidden headlights on the Ford 500XL and the tail lights recessed in the bumper on the Impala, among other things. Tough decision but I'm going with the Impala.

I much prefer the "squarer" styling of the Ford; especially the separate tail lights and bumper.

Another tie for me. My 1st car was a'68 Impala, so I really like that one, but the Ford was another car I spent a lot of time in. Growing up, the next door neighbor had one, and since her son and I were friends, we went lots of places in that car. I love that one too.  So...
