Not even close for me - the Plymouth wins on looks, engine/transmission, and suspension. And, all by a large margin!

The styling of the '68-'69 Chevelle is my favorite year of that marque so it beats the Plymouth out by a nose. Love them both though.
I was not a fan of that large 'sail panel' roof-to-rear sheet metal on the GM cars that year. Chevelle and GTO were affected. By 1970, Chevelle fixed it. For this one I actually prefer the GTX by a very W I D E margin.
I like both cars but have always liked the Chevelle for 68 and 69. The Chevelle, as pictured, looks like it needs to be lowered somewhat. A friend had a Plymouth GTX back in the day and all I can remember about the car was the extreme rust. Chevelle.
Plymouth for me too for the reasons above.

@brush This one is a beauty Bruce; my fave year of Coronet R/T. I agree also that the Charger R/T was about as good as this class of car got in '68.
A really easy one today. The PLYMOUTH GTX for me! It bleeds style!

I voted Plymouth as usual. I didn’t like the chevelle until 1970
If I ignore the engines, I like the Chevelle better. If I take the engines into account, I'll take the Chevelle, even though it's only a 350. That Hemi was almost impossible to live with on the streets, great for the track, but not so good for day-to-day driving.
