The '56 you take home to introduce to Mom. The '57 is the one you show off to friends and enemies - with a big smile.  I vote fifty-seven; hubba, hubba!

I always liked the 1956, but this 1957 shadows it.

My favorite Buick of this particular decade is the '55, so IMHO the '56 was the same basic design but not as attractive.  The sleeker '57 design, with trim application facilitating an attractive 2-tone color separation, beats the '56.

To me '56 was FoMoCo's best designs of the '50's & '57 was GMC's. Much prefer the '57.

My grandfather had a 56 and I have to with that.  But the 57 is no slouch.

Going with '57 today.  If it would have been the '55 or '54 against the '57, both would win out.  But against the '56, FIFTY-SEVEN HEAVEN BABY!

I rather liked both but was greatly disappointed by the 1958.

Some would say the '58 Buick and Oldsmobile for that matter, are an acquired taste and some would say they are just gross.

@sizedoesmatter John; I would agree that the '58 Buick and Olds were not attractive designs but man do they ever make a statement at car shows.  I appreciate them for their representation of the chrome excess of their time....but I wouldn't want to own one.
