OMG John; you're wearing me out!! (I LOVE it!)

I'm going with the upscale and unusual & BEAUTIFUL color combo, Imperial for first place. I like the Plymouth Sport Fury next, the Chrysler New Yorker (for its unique two-tone and fashionable roof) followed by the Dodge Monaco.  Pheewie!!

I have always liked the 65 Plymouth for its stacked headlights and straight forward styling. Plymouth, Dodge, Chrysler and Imperial.

This is extremely difficult! I went for the Dodge, followed by the Imperial. The Chrysler and Plymouth tie. All of this could change in 15 minutes.

I vote PLYMOUTH for #1 Mopar in 1965.  But the Dodge is an extremely close 2nd.  Both cars recuperated very nicely from their extreme ugliness in 1962.

That said however, those '62's have over the years grown on me for that same ugliness in styling.  Odd, how time seems to alter our opinions.

I do think the Imperial for '65 is really nice and it too, overcame some bizarre styling just a couple of years before.  While the Chrysler with the weird white roof panel takes last place.

I'm gonna go with:

Chrysler

Imperial

Dodge

Plymouth

Interesting fact - Imperial was still body-on-frame construction through 1966 vs. the unit-body used on all the other ChryCo cars. Notice the completely different cowl/windshield treatment on the Imperial shown above compared to the other three. This would change in 1967.

Great one today (as always!), John!

'65

#1 Plymouth

#2 Dodge

#3 Chrysler

#4 Imperial

Same as Bob.

However I love the Dodge Monaco, in '65 the Monaco was offered in a door hardtop only.

@moe-parr I am in agreement with you.  The Chrysler wins only because this was the first new car I remember my parents buying in 65.  Otherwise they always bought a used vehicle, since Dad was a mechanic.

@carsman1958 That was quite a step-up, from a string of used cars to a brand-new Chrysler, leapfrogging right over Plymouth and Dodge. That must have been a proud day for your family! Which model was it? Even the Newports looked high-end for 1965.

Plymouth styling in '65 was their best of the decade by far IMHO.

Plymouth, Imperial, Chrysler, Dodge in that order for me.

@moe-parr Barry, I see you live on Long Island.  Grew up in Hauppauge.  Moved south in 72 with the family.  Yes it was a Newport, White with Burgundy interior and a 383ci.  It would move for a big car.

@brush Bruce, that is one fine looking Dodge in that color.

I like them all, but Dodge was a client of my Dad's back then and we had a 1965 Dodge Custom 880 wagon (and a 1966 4-door Dodge Monaco). All powered by 383 V-8 engines.
